Finland’s first LNG import terminal at the oil and chemical harbor Tahkoluoto in the Port of Pori recently received its first ever cargo of liquefied natural gas.

The cargo was delivered to the Pori LNG terminal aboard the Dutch-flagged 15,600 cbm Coral Energy carrier owned by Anthony Veder, from the Fluxys-operated Zeebrugge LNG terminal.

The facility, valued at €81 million is currently undergoing commissioning and is scheduled for completion in August with commercial operations beginning in September.

The terminal area comprises a 30,000 cbm LNG storage tank, loading docks, process units, flare torch, three loading docks for road tankers, a transformer building and a heat production unit.

Gasum, the parent company of Skangas that is building the first Finnish LNG terminal, recently posted a video of the commissioning cargo delivery.
