Norway’s offshore union Industri Energi (IE) plans to boycott Bibby Offshore to prevent it from securing more work on the Norwegian Continental Shelf due to information suggesting that the UK-based subsea specialist exercises ‘social dumping’.
According to IE, Bibby Offshore Norway has on July 1 denied the union’s claim for collective agreement for the company’s offshore workers engaged on the Norwegian Shelf. In that respect, Industry Energy has announced it will implement boycotts from July 25.
Oceaneering has entered into a master service agreement with Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) through December 2020.
Oceaneering will provide up to ten ROV systems with associated subsea tooling, engineering and technicians to support HMC’s global operations, including fixed and floating platform installations, platform decommissioning, subsea infrastructure and pipeline installations.
N-Sea has announced the opening of a new office in Dubai, with operations due to start as early as August 2016.
The new base will support N-Sea’s presence in the region, allowing the company to conduct diving, ROV and survey projects in the civil engineering and offshore markets throughout the UAE, the company explained.
Royal IHC has received an honor award from Sapura Navegação Marítima for the delivery of five pipelaying vessels.
On June 21, 2016, Royal IHC concluded the project with the delivery of the pipelaying vessel, Sapura Rubi. All vessels are destined for Brazilian waters to develop deep-sea oil fields of up to 2,500 meters on behalf of Petrobras.
Mermaid Maritime’s business unit, Mermaid Subsea Services (Thailand), has been awarded a contract to provide technical support service personnel to an undisclosed offshore oil and gas EPIC company.
According to the company, the contract, which has already started, is for the duration of one year and begins with an estimated potential contract value of USD 5.8 million.
