Sirius Petroleum has received an approval from the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Environment for the Environmental Impact Assessment Survey (EIA) on the Ororo Field Licence (OML 95), offshore Nigeria.

The company announced on April 22, 2016 that together with its partners, Guarantee Petroleum and Owena Oil & Gas, it had submitted the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA Survey) for approval with the Ministry of Environment in accordance with the Department of Petroleum Resources guidelines and regulations.

Sirius said on Monday that approval has been granted by the Federal Ministry of Environment regarding the EIA which covers the drilling of 3 wells on the Ororo Field and the installation of wellhead platforms.

In accordance with standard Federal Ministry of Environment conditions, Sirius and its partners will maintain the required environmental management plan and environmental audits, Sirius said.

The company was also recently granted a three-year extension to the Ororo field license with effect from May 1, 2016.
