The Santa Cruz Port District has just announced that they will host a christening ceremony for its new $5 million dredger, the Twin Lakes, this week.
The new 200-ton machine, built by DSC Dredge LLC from Reserve, Louisiana, will replace the Seabright, which conducted its last dredging operation in June.
DSC was commissioned to build the Twin Lakes in April 2015.
The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, July 20th, at 11:00 a.m. at the public pier near the fuel dock (next to the Crow’s Nest Beach Market).
Following the ceremony, harbor crews will be giving tours onboard the dredger.
