Aberdeen-based subsea cable and connection specialist Hydro Group has hired AgileTek to provide support on an unnamed wave energy project.

London-based engineering consultancy AgileTek will assist Hydro Group with design and engineering of accessories for the cable connected to a wave energy conversion device.

The scope of work also includes local structural modelling of the cable as well as dynamic analysis of the whole system, according to AgileTek.

Steve Rossiter , AgileTek’s Managing Director, said: “We’re excited to be able to bring our expertise in design and simulation of subsea systems to an innovative and challenging industry.”

Mark Hendry , Technical Director at Hydro Group, added: “We are delighted to be working with a supplier that can provide a product and service that meets the demanding needs of marine renewable systems that must operate reliably in harsh subsea conditions.”

Tidal Energy Today has reached out to both Hydro Group and AgileTek to inquire for more details regarding the wave energy project.

Should either of the companies respond, the article will be updated accordingly.
