London-based engineering consultancy, AgileTek, has been awarded a contract to support Hydro Group on an undisclosed wave energy project.

The work will see AgileTek assist the umbilical manufacturer with design and engineering of accessories for the cable connected to a wave energy conversion device. Local structural modelling of the cable as well as dynamic analysis of the whole system are included in the scope.

Steve Rossiter , AgileTek’s managing director, said: “This is a great opportunity for our team to work with one of the leading players in subsea connectivity solutions for the renewable energy industry. We’re excited to be able to bring our expertise in design and simulation of subsea systems to an innovative and challenging industry.”

Mark Hendry , technical director at Hydro Group, added: “We are delighted to be working with a supplier that can provide a product and service that meets the demanding needs of marine renewable systems that must operate reliably in harsh subsea conditions.”
