Argentinian company Cooperativa De Trabajos Portuarios Limitada de San Martín is about to receive a Cutter Suction Dredger 500 from Damen Dredging Equipment.

The newbuild will be used for dredging operations in the Argentinian terminal region around Rosario on the Paraná river.

The CSD 500 dredger, named LA PORTUARIA, was built at Damen Dredging Equipment in Nijkerk, the Netherlands. The dredger has a dredging depth of -16m and a maximum swing width of 39.6m.

LA PORTUARIA’s mixture capacity is 4,000m³/hour which can be discharged up to 2000m. The diameters of the suction pipe and discharge pipe are 550mm and 500mm respectively. The cutting power of the cutter is 180 kW.

The vessel is fitted with a Caterpillar 3512B dredge pump diesel and a Caterpillar C12 TA auxiliary diesel. The basic functions of the dredger will be capital and maintenance dredging.

LA PORTUARIA has a modular design which makes it easy to transport almost anywhere. The dredger is easily made ready for transport and on location reassembled with small locally-sourced cranes.

Following the delivery, Damen Services will continue to provide Cooperativa De Trabajos Portuarios with proper operation and maintenance of the vessel as well as crew familiarization and training.
