BP renews line pipe supply deal with Japanese steel maker

Japan’s Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation and Sumitomo Corp have renewed a master agreement for the supply of line pipe with the British oil company BP.

The Japanese steelmaker on Friday said that the long-term deal, effective from July 1, was for five years. BP will have an option to extend for further five years.

The company which has supplied line pipe to BP since 1990’s said it was committed to contributing to BP’s exploration and production activities” which find resources in challenging locations and require advanced solutions.”
