Atlantis Resources is conducting final preparations on its tidal turbine foundations which will be used for the MeyGen tidal array project.
The image depicts a production line of MeyGen foundation structures currently being prepared at Global Energy Group’s Nigg marshalling yard.
Atlantis will install four tidal energy turbines as part of the Phase 1A of the recently grid-connected MeyGen project this summer, with the combined capacity of 6 MW.
Three tidal turbines for the Phase 1A of the project are made by Andritz Hydro, and one is designed by Lockheed Martin.
Once fully built, the 400MW MeyGen project is expected to generate enough clean electricity to power 175,000 Scottish homes.
