One of Vroon’s platform supply vessels (PSVs) has been chartered by Ztechnologies to test a new offshore access gangway system in the Dutch section of the North Sea.
Vroon reported through its social media channels on Monday that Ztechnologies, a provider of offshore mooring and gangway solutions, chartered the PSV VOS Prime for testing of its new gangway system.
The PSV was built in 2015 at the Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding, China. The DP-2 VOS Prime has 6500 bhp and can propel the vessel to 13 knots maximum speed. It can accommodate a total of 58 people, 40 for the charterer and 18 crew members.
The vessel is one of six such vessels built at Fujian Southeast Shipyard for Vroon while another two are expected in 2017.
Ztechnologies previously collaborated with Vroon while testing its Zbridge system. Namely, the company conducted tests on another Vroon vessel, the offshore support vessel VOS Sympathy.
