ScottishPower Renewables has awarded SeaRoc Group with a 5-year framework contract to provide Health, Safety and Quality management support to their 714MW East Anglia ONE offshore wind farm.

Scope of work includes provision of specialist personnel to provide advice and support to the project during construction, development of management systems, and to deliver training to help ensure safe and efficient work on the project.

Charlie Jordan, ScottishPower Renewables’ Project Director, said: “We look forward to working with SeaRoc, who are one of the UK’s leading Health and Safety management support companies working in offshore renewables. Delivering East Anglia ONE will be a major engineering challenge, involving up to 3,000 people working in a variety of locations. Safety will always be our number one priority, and SeaRoc will help us to ensure that the project is delivered to the highest standards.”

This contract extends SeaRoc Group’s UK project portfolio, having now supported 29 of the UK’s offshore wind farm constructions.

ScottishPower Renewables reached a final investment decision for the GBP 2.5 billion project in February 2016.

Construction is planned to commence in 2017, with the first of 102 Siemens 7MW wind turbines to be installed by 2019.

The wind farm is expected to be fully operational by 2020.
