Mexico is to receive two more cargoes of liquefied natural gas from Peru’s sole liquefaction and export facility at Pampa Melchorita.

The first cargo was dispatched on August 2 aboard the 136,600-cbm LNG carrier Galea , data from the state-owned Perupetro shows. The second cargo departed the liquefaction plant August 5 onboard the Gemmata LNG tanker with a capacity of 138,104 cbm.

LNG carrier Galea is currently docked at the Manzanillo LNG import facility in Mexico’s Colima state, according to AIS data provided by the vessel tracking website, MarineTraffic.

Perupetro did not provide the final destination for the Gemmata, however, the LNG tanker is probably heading to Manzanillo as well.

With the latest cargoes, Peru’s LNG export facility shipped 344 vessels in total, since it started operations in June 2010.

The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
