Vietnamese drilling rig builder PetroVietnam Marine Shipyard has delivered the Tam Dao 05 jack-up drilling rig to Vietsovpetro, the joint Russian-Vietnamese company for oil and gas exploration.
Following 32 months of construction, the handover ceremony was held on Friday, August 12, 2016, in Vietnam.
Tam Dao 05 is a jack-up drilling rig built to the F&G JU-2000-E design. The rig can operate in depths of up to 120 meters, with a maximum drilling depth set at 9.000 meters.
PetroVietnam Marine Shipyard (PV Shipyard), is a subsidiary of PetroVietnam Oil & Gas Group (PetroVietnam). The Tam Dao 05 drilling rig is the second jack-up rig domestically manufactured by subsidiaries of PetroVietnam. The first was Tam Dao 03 which was put into operation in 2012.
Le Hung , Managing Director of PV Shipyard said at the ceremony: “We are glad to complete and handover this new build jack-up rig to Vietsovpetro on time and on budget.”
