Offshore Energy Today last week reported that the giant Pioneering Spirit offshore vessel was nearing the Yme platform in the Norwegian Sector of the North Sea, in a move to lift the Yme topside.
Our report was based on the Pioneering Spirit’s AIS data, as seen on Marine Traffic website, but now we have a visual confirmation. Namely, Allseas, the owner of the behemoth vessel, has shared two photos showing the vessel and the platform “looking at each other.”
What is more, the Pioneering Spirit’s current AIS data shows the vessel is now underneath the topside, getting ready to lift it off its concrete legs.
