Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) CEO, Ibrahim Ziyath, was yesterday presented with a scale model of the company’s new trailing suction hopper dredger “Mahaa Jarraafu”.
The scale model of the newbuild was handed over to MTCC CEO by the Area Director of IHC Holland, Mr. Amine N.H. Ezzedine.
The 3700 vessel is the largest in the Easydredge series of standard twin-screw trailing suction hopper dredgers (TSHD), which are designed and built by Royal IHC.
The “Mahaa Jarraafu” will have a length overall of 92.95 meters and a hopper capacity of 3700 cubic meters per load.
With the design dredging depth of 50 meters, the newbuild will revolutionize dredging industry in the Maldives.
Delivery of the“Mahaa Jarraafu” is scheduled for early 2017.
