RasGas of Qatar, one the world’s largest gas exporters, delivered its first liquefied natural gas cargo to Italy’s floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) Toscana.

The cargo was delivered aboard RasGas’ 145,702-cbm LNG tanker Al Thakhira on Tuesday, RasGas said in a statement.

The receiver of the cargo is a new customer for RasGas, DufEnergy, a trading company based in Lugano, Switzerland.

FSRU Toscana is one of Italy’s main regasification projects, and is located 22km off the Italian coast between Livorno and Pisa.

The terminal is permanently anchored to the seabed through a mooring system, with a single point of rotation at the bow.
