Energy giant BP on Thursday said that on behalf of the Tangguh production sharing contractors it has signed two contracts for the Tangguh LNG expansion project in Indonesia.
According to the company’s statement, contracts have been officially signed for the onshore LNG engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and offshore GPF engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI).
The onshore EPC contract has been signed with a joint venture led by the Indonesian contractor Tripatra with, Chiyoda, Saipem and Suluh Ardhi Engineering. The offshore contract went to Saipem Indonesia.
Saipem previously informed of the award of the two contracts.
Under the offshore EPCI contract, Saipem will provide engineering, procurement, construction and installation of offshore facilities, consisting of two unmanned platforms and subsea pipelines.
The joint venture has been contracted to build an onshore LNG process train with a liquefaction capacity of 3.8 million tons per annum, utilities, offsites, an LNG jetty and associated infrastructure.
Work under both contracts is set to start before the end of the year with first LNG production from the third liquefaction train expected in 2020.
The final investment decision for the construction of the third train at the Tangguh LNG facility located in Papua Barat Province of Indonesia was made at the beginning of last month.
