Mineral raw materials from the sea may contribute to ensuring the long term supply of industrial nations with important raw materials, Bosch Rexroth said in its latest announcement.

The DeepSea Mining Alliance (DSMA) supports the development of deep sea mining projects in order to allow for an environmentally friendly extraction of these raw materials in the future.

On 6 September, Bosch Rexroth signed the Declaration of Accession of the DeepSea Mining Alliance on the occasion of the SMM.

The DeepSea Mining Alliance founded in Hamburg in 2014 offers a platform for partners from industry and research in order to further promote the environmentally friendly deep sea mining in the future.

The activities range from cooperation with research institutes to the support of most different projects worldwide and are to cover the entire value added chain of deep sea mining.

One option to secure the long-term supply reliability of raw materials is the future availability of mineral resources from the sea. Deep sea mining plays an important role for their exploration, mining, extraction and preparation.

Bosch Rexroth will strengthen the Alliance with their experience in the area environmentally friendly technology for reliable and safe underwater systems.
