Zensor, a Belgium-based provider of monitoring solutions for offshore industry, received the ‘Rising Star’ award at the European Commission’s Blue Economy Business Awards 2016.
The award was handed over in Hamburg during a dedicated ceremony attached to the Blue Economy Business and Science Forum.
Zensor was rewarded for its sustainability-enhancing integrity-monitoring solutions offered towards the offshore wind industry, as well for the wave and tidal industries, Zensor informed.
Using its sensor-based monitoring solutions, the operational life of the energy-producing infrastructure can be optimised and maintenance cycles made more in-line with the actual condition of the structures, according to the company.
Organised by the Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE), the Blue Economy Business Awards were set up to showcase success stories, from the EU and beyond, that demonstrate how new applications from marine research can produce jobs and growth in the marine economy.
