Innovate UK sets aside £15M for innovative technologies

UK’s innovation agency, Innovate UK, is investing up to £15 million in emerging and enabling technology projects, including energy harvesting undertakings.

UK’s innovation agency, Innovate UK, is investing up to £15 million in emerging and enabling technology projects, including energy harvesting undertakings.

Innovate UK is welcoming innovation projects in emerging technologies that show significant industry and commercial improvement in novel applications, with the special interest in energy harvesting projects.

The aim of this competition is to help businesses broaden out innovation activities, and find new sources of revenue from new products, processes or services.

Proposals should show how to achieve a step change in business growth, productivity and export opportunities for at least one UK small and medium-sized enterprise (SME).

The project costs are expected to range from total costs of £35,000 to £2 million, lasting between 6 months and 3 years.

The competition opens on October 3, 2016.
