DCT Gdansk SA has just announced that the opening ceremony of the second deepwater berth (T2) will take place on Monday, 24th of October 2016.

The contract for the construction of the new Deepwater Container Terminal in Gdansk was awarded to the Belgian BESIX in September 2014.

At the beginning of 2015, construction of the second deepwater quay that will be capable of serving several vessels at the same time was officially started.

The second berth in DCT Gdansk, which will be fully operational by the end of 2016, will allow the terminal to meet growing demand for deep-sea services in Central-Eastern Europe.

The new 650m long quay will increase DCT’s annual handling capacity to up to 3 million TEU. New berth at DCT Gdansk will be able to handle Ultra Large Container Vessels of capacity exceeding 18000 TEU.
