Sif plant at Maasvlakte 2 has completed its first shipment of monopiles for Galloper offshore wind farm, located offshore UK.

The piles, each with a length of over 80 metres, will be transported to the wind farm this December, Port of Rotterdam informed.

Sif will be supplying a total of 54 monopiles to the Galloper project from its new Maasvlakte 2 facility. Monopiles are cylindrical steel tubes that are positioned deep in the seabed and serve as a base for a centre section, which in turn supports the wind turbine itself.

The various parts of the monopiles were manufactured at Sif’s plant in Roermond.
