EMEC looks for metocean experts

The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) has opened two positions related to meteorology and physical oceanography disciplines.

The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) has opened two positions related to meteorology and physical oceanography disciplines.

EMEC is seeking a Project Manager for its upcoming MET Certified project whose aim will be to support the development of marine energy standards and create a bespoke certification scheme.

The Project Manager will be tasked with managing the progress and delivery of this project.

EMEC is also recruiting for a Metocean Data Manager who will manage the collection, manipulation, quality control and dissemination of data.

Data Manager will also assist in the development of EMEC’s Data Management and Dissemination Strategy and be instrumental in its delivery, the Center informed.

The closing date for both applications is set for October 12, 2016.

Metocean is a discipline covering meteorology and physical oceanography related to quantifying the impact and effect of weather and sea conditions, such as winds, waves, currents, and water levels on various activities in the renewable energy and offshore oil and gas sectors.
