This photograph of Sabella’s D10 tidal turbine was taken on the early Friday morning last week in Brest, France.
The French tidal energy developer is conducting maintenance and optimization works on its 1MW tidal turbine, ahead of its redeployment in the Fromveur Strait, off Ushant island.
The turbine, with a rotor diameter of 10 m and height of 17 m, weighing around 450 tonnes, was first deployed in June 2015, and connected to the Ushant island’s grid last November.
The new testing campaign is expected to start by the end of this month, or early in November.
