German helicopter offshore hoist operator Helicopter Travel Munich (HTM) has signed a contract with Airbus Helicopters for one H145 which, once delivered in December 2017, will serve offshore wind farms in the German Bight.

The new aircraft will be operated from HTM’s bases at Emden, Norden, Borkum and Helgoland.

The H145 joins HTM’s inventory of Airbus Helicopters-built rotorcraft that includes eleven H135-family aircraft.

“Since 2009, when we started offshore wind operations with H135, we have found Airbus Helicopters to be a very reliable partner and we are happy to continue this partnership with the H145,” said Bernd Brucherseifer, HTM’s Managing Director.

“We believe the H145 is the right helicopter to respond to the increasing demand for hoisting helicopters with larger transport capacity and dual pilot operation, especially for windfarms increasingly further out to sea.”

The two companies signed the contract during the Helitech International 2016 held in Amsterdam RAI from 11 to 13 October.
