The 151,645-cbm LNG tanker British Ruby, owned by UK-based energy giant BP, was last week involved in a collision with a tug at Australia’s Port of Dampier.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 4 after the British Ruby completed the loading of an LNG cargo at the port, a BP spokeswoman told LNG World News in an emailed statement on Friday.
“While the LNGC British Ruby was moored to the berth, a tug collided with her port aft hull structure causing indentation of the plating, but no breach,” the spokeswoman said.
According to AIS data provided by the vessel tracking website, MarineTraffic, the LNG tanker is currently heading to Japan to deliver the LNG cargo.
The British Ruby is a DFDE GEM class vessel with a length of 288.4 metres and a beam of 44.2 metres.
