A dredging program is about to begin at the entrance to Kananook Creek with the aim of improving accessibility to boat users throughout the year.

The maintenance dredging works are scheduled to begin tomorrow, October 15th with the completion date on November 2nd 2016, weather permitting.

Scheduled monthly dredging will be carried out with a pontoon sub-dredge to maintain 1m navigable depth below chart datum on the approach/entrance.

Dredged material is to be deposited for beach renourishment at the adjacent Frankston Beach.

On-water plant, equipment and potential hazards to navigation arising from the works will be marked and lit as per IALA standards.

The sub-dredge will be stored when idle in a docking cage pontoon, moored within the creek.
