Danish grid operator, Energinet.dk, has invited tenders for the provision of UXO survey for the Kriegers Flak Combined Grid Solution (CGS).

The aim of the Kriegers Flak CGS is to interconnect the Danish and German grid via two offshore wind farms at Kriegers Flak and Baltic 2.

Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm is located approximately 45km from the coast of Rodvig, where Energinet.dk plans to install two 220kV submarine export cables and a 9km connecting cable between two offshore platforms.

The UXO survey should reduce the risk at the cable installation routes.

The services to be provided include geophysical survey, inspection of possible UXO objects and removal/detonation of identified UXO objects.

The deadline for the submission of tenders is October 31, 2016.

Kriegers Flak plans to start operating between 2018 and 2020 and should help more than double Denmark’s wind power energy capacity.
