FORESEA program has launched its second call for support package applications to help bring ocean energy technologies to market by providing access to Europe’s world-leading network of test centers.

Following the announcement of the 10 ocean energy developers selected under the first FORESEA call, Neil Kermode, EMEC’s Managing Director, has formally launched the second call for applications yesterday at the Ocean Energy Europe conference.

The call for applications is open to any enterprise, whether research center, third level education institution, company or individual, who wish to deploy their technology for testing before October 2018.

Kermode said: “With ten technologies recommended for support, it’s fair to say that the FORESEA programme is off to a tremendous start, and we are really looking forward to welcoming some of these developers to EMEC in the coming months. To continue this momentum, I am pleased to announce that the second call for applications is now open.”

The testing facilities participating in the project are EMEC (Orkney Islands, UK); SmartBay (Galway, Ireland); SEM-REV (Nantes, France); and Tidal Testing Centre (Den Oever, Netherlands).

The call is open until February 28, 2017.

Funding Ocean Renewable Energy through Strategic European Action (FORESEA) program is funded through Interreg NWE, part of the European Regional Development Fund.
