The Cherry Grove Dredging Project, being conducted by Orion Marine’s two dredgers, is moving ahead.

Earlier this week, one dredge worked in the ‘E Canal’ and another was several blocks down in the Minor Channel.

This photo, just released by the City of North Myrtle Beach, was taken at the Minor Channel, east toward Lake Drive as the dredger works its way to the street end of Canal “E” located between 42nd Avenue North and 43rd Avenue North.

The orange pipe shown behind the dredge leads to a booster pump that then propels the dredged material through the pipeline to the spoils basin located off Little River Neck Road.

The current plan calls for dredging from 7am-7pm daily, but this could change if circumstances develop that require a longer working schedule.

The project schedule anticipates construction will take place from November 2016 through April 2017.
