Adriatic LNG on Monday informed that it has completed the tender procedure for the peak shaving cargo for the winter season 2016/2017.
According to the company’s statement, the LNG market operator selected to provide the peak shaving service will provide Snam Rete Gas, the Italian natural gas distributor, with a 70,000-cbm cargo.
The company has not revealed the name of the selected LNG market operator.
The cargo will be discharged at the Adriatic LNG terminal in the second half of December.
In case of emergency, this service will allow the regasification of the previously stored LNG at the terminal and its delivery into the grid. Within the limits of the quantities of LNG delivered, the service will be available to Snam Rete Gas until March 31, 2017, the statement reads.
Adriatic LNG, caters for 10 percent of Italy’s national gas consumption, by delivering more than 40 billion cubic meters of gas to the national pipeline network.
