Global engineering and consulting firm Royal HaskoningDHV has named Alan Gerrett as Business Strategy Director in its UK operation.

Gerrett joins from dredging specialist DEME Group, where he held the role of Managing Director.

In his role as UK Business Strategy Director, Gerrett will primarily work with the management teams of Maritime & Aviation, and Transport & Planning, to increase Royal HaskoningDHV’s profile and share of the maritime business and position the company to grow further into the UK infrastructure market.

Craig Huntbatch , Resident Director of Royal HaskoningDHV’s UK operation, said: “Gerrett has extensive industry experience which is key for us, having worked in marine engineering and infrastructure. His knowledge of offshore wind and tidal within the renewables sector will be invaluable to maintaining our leading position in this industry in the UK.”

Commenting on his appointment, Gerrett said: “The maritime industry and the potential for infrastructure here in the UK both offer great opportunity for Royal HaskoningDHV to develop and bring new innovations to the market and I’m excited to see what the future holds for the company.”

To remind, Royal HaskoningDHV was recently hired by Menter Môn, the third-party manager for the Morlais tidal energy project, along with MarineSpace to conduct environmental impact assessment, and provide consenting support for the Morlais tidal energy demonstration zone off Anglesey, Wales.
