Maritime Office in Gdynia, Poland, has invited tenders for the supply of a hydrographic research vessel.

The contract is for the design, construction and delivery of a specialized double-hulled catamaran vessel with an all-welded aluminum construction.

According to the tender information, the vessel should be capable of carrying out hydrographic surveys and research conditions of navigability of waterways, anchorages, and other bodies of water for determining safe deep sea routes.

The vessel will work in the port of Gdynia, Gdansk, Hel, Wladyslawowo, Puck, the Gulf of Gdansk and Puck, in the region of the Hel Peninsula and central and eastern coast, as well as in open areas of the Baltic Sea.

The main task of the hydrographic research vessel will be to ensure navigational safety shipping.

The potential value of the contract is USD 5.5 million, an the deadline for the submission of tenders is January 03, 2017.
