Regional Asset Maintenance Services has been awarded a three-year, multi-million dollar contract to deliver general facilities maintenance for the Inpex-led Ichthys LNG project onshore processing facility at Bladin Point.
The contract scope includes plumbing, painting, landscaping, electrical services and emergency equipment maintenance during the project’s operational phase, Inpex informed in a brief social media statement.
In addition, Inpex said in its monthly update that the permanent operations complex at Bladin Point has entered the final stages of construction with commissioning underway.
The scope involves the construction of 20 permanent buildings, including a medical centre, fire station, laboratory, workshop, warehouse, fuel station, canteen and a training centre and the central control building (CCB) from which the entire plant will be operated.
Inpex recently welded together the offshore and onshore sections of the 890 kilometer gas export pipeline , saying it is ready to deliver gas from offshore Ichthys field to the project’s onshore facilities at Bladin Point near Darwin for processing.
The US$34 billion Ichthys project is scheduled to start production by the third quarter of 2017, and is set to have an annual LNG production capacity 8.9 mtpa.
The project is a joint venture between Inpex, major partner Total, Taiwan’s CPC Corporation and the Australian subsidiaries of Tokyo Gas, Osaka Gas, Kansai Electric, Chubu Electric Power and Toho Gas.
