Fluxys-operated Zeebrugge LNG terminal has booked its first cargo of liquefied natural gas for the month of December.
According to the shipping data, the 145,602-cbm Milaha Qatar LNG carrier has set off from the Ras Laffan port on November 19.
The vessel, built by Samsung Heavy Industries is scheduled to dock at Zeebrugge’s jetty on December 12, the data shows.
The Zeebrugge LNG terminal, that mainly imports LNG from Qatar, has an annual throughput capacity of nine billion cubic meters of natural gas.
At the beginning of November, Fluxys conducted first operational tests as part of the commissioning process of the second LNG jetty at its terminal in the outer port of Zeebrugge.
The jetty is expected to be operational by the end of this year, will be able to accommodate both small and large LNG carriers, with capacities ranging from 2,000-cbm to 217,000-cbm of the chilled fuel.
