Royal HaskoningDHV Signs Kuala Tanjung Port Development Deal

During this week’s trade mission to Indonesia, Royal HaskoningDHV signed two contracts with the Indonesian port operator Pelindo I for the development of Kuala Tanjung Port in North Sumatra.

The company is part of the trade delegation, along with Dutch Prime Minister Rutte, Ministers Schultz van Haegen and Ploumen and State Secretary Dijksma, that is visiting Indonesia this week.

The contracts signed during the mission with Pelindo I include engineering and consultancy services for Kuala Tanjung Industrial Gateway Port.

Kuala Tanjung is one of the 24 strategic commercial ports to be developed under President Joko Widodo’s maritime highway vision.

Located on the international shipping lane of the Malacca Strait, Kuala Tanjung Port will be integrated with a nearby existing port and Special Economic Zones in order to serve as a gateway for local markets and providing suitable transportation options for the growing industries in the region.
