Today (25 November), Navantia reported that it signed a contract for 42 East Anglia One jacket foundations, eight more than the initial number of foundations it was supposed to build, thus solving the equation that emerged after Lamprell announced it will build 60 jackets for the 102-turbine project.

Navantia said the new decision of the developer comes “as culmination of a very competitive tender with the participation of the main European shipyards and companies in the wind sector.”

Yesterday, Iberdrola and Navantia officially signed a contract for the construction of the electrical substation for the East Anglia One offshore wind farm. The contract includes the construction of one module, jacket substructure and support for the offshore connection in the North Sea.

The fabrication will begin next spring in Navantia’s Puerto Real facilities and will be finished within approximately 2 years.
