Green Marine UK has won a contract to fully decommission Andritz Hammerfest Hydro 1MW tidal turbine located at the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC).
The turbine, HS1000, will be decommissioned with all its associated onshore and offshore infrastructure having completed the trials at EMEC, off Orkney.
Green Marine will be responsible for all management, engineering and execution of the works, with the completion of works expected in the first quarter of 2017.
Green Marine will use its own engineers and vessels, including the Heavy Lift Barge GM700, multi-cat Green Isle, and Stantung Green Chief.
Local contractors will work in conjunction with Green Marine to complete the works, Orkney-based vessels provider informed.
