Green Marine to Decommission Tidal Turbine at EMEC

Green Marine (UK) Ltd has been awarded the contract to fully decommission Andritz Hydro Hammerfest’s 1MW tidal turbine HS1000 and all the associated infrastructure offshore and onshore, after trials at EMEC’s tidal test site in Orkney.

Green Marine will be responsible for all management, planning, engineering and execution of the works.

Green Marine will use their own engineers and vessels, including the Heavy Lift Barge GM700, Multi-Cat Green Isle, Stantug Green Chief.

Local contractors will work in conjunction with Green Marine to complete the works, the company said.

The completion of the decommissioning work is scheduled for Q1 2017.
