Australian wave energy developer Carnegie Wave Energy is looking to expand its team with professionals who would help the company deliver its CETO 6 wave energy project at Wave Hub, UK.

Having completed the commissioning and 12-month operation of the Perth Wave Energy Project at Garden Island in Australia, Carnegie is now shifting focus to the delivery of its CETO 6 technology to be used at its Wave Hub Project, based in Cornwall.

The project has been backed by £9.6 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for the first phase that comprises design, construction, installation and operation of a single 1MW grid-connected CETO 6 wave energy converter, with the commissioning set for 2018.

In that regard, through its UK subsidiary CWE UK that will be delivering the project, Carnegie is looking for Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Project Grant Coordinator to take the project delivery forward.

As a Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the £15 million CETO Wave Hub Project is managed in accordance with Carnegie project management methodology and is delivered safely, on time and on budget.

In addition, the Project Manager will be in charge of ensuring compliance with ERDF funding requirements.

Project Engineer will be responsible for technical liaison between the CETO development team in Australia and the UK based project delivery team, while the Project Grant Coordinator will be tasked with ensuring the ongoing compliance with the Project’s ERDF obligations, including managing grant claims and ongoing communications with the UK government’s Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).

All three positions are based at CWE UK’s offices located in Hayle Marine Renewable Business Park in Cornwall.
