Dutch research and development company that specializes in tidal energy is searching for a manufacturer of synchronous generator technology to help further the development of its tidal power plants.

The company, whose name was not disclosed, is interested to enter into a manufacturing agreement with partners who are owners and manufacturers of synchronous generator technology, preferably in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France and Germany, it is stated on Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) website .

The technology, more commonly known as the alternator, is an electro-mechanical device that converts mechanical energy to alternating current electrical energy.

Ideally, the note states, the manufacturing partner will have proven technology at technology readiness level (TRL) 4 and higher, and share the organization’s mission to make tidal energy more affordable, according to EEN, a business support network led by Innovate UK.
