Tidal energy developer, DP Energy, and wave energy investor, Wavepower, have joined the Marine Renewables Industry Association (MRIA) in Ireland.
The association that represents Ireland’s marine renewables community in the fields of wave and tidal energy has through its social media welcomed the two new members yesterday, November 29, 2016.
MRIA includes device developers and manufacturers, project developers, academic researchers, consultants, and contractors.
DP Energy has together with Dutch-based Bluepower established a joint venture called Fair Head Tidal Energy Park to drive forward the 100MW Fair Head tidal project off Northern Ireland.
Once constructed, the project is expected to generate enough electricity to power approximately 70,000 Northern Irish homes by 2020.
Wavepower is a Somerset-based private investor in wave energy industry whose goal is to advance the wave energy sector.
