Next Geosolutions, the independent geoscience and engineering service provider, has launched a new multi purpose-built operational facility in the Hamriyah Free Zone of Sharjah (UAE), and a supporting business development and marketing office in Dubai.

With operations due to start in December, the new 400 sq. meters facility will see the recruitment of five team members to expand its activities in the region.

Ennio Lucidi has been appointed as Next Geosolutions’ Middle East general manager. He has more than 35 years’ experience in the marine and offshore oil and gas sectors.

Lucidi said: “ I am delighted to be part of Next Geosolutions’ strong commitment and development into this new market, at both a challenging and stimulating time. In addition to its state of the art solutions, I believe my skills will contribute for a sustainable and profitable growth in the region.”

Giovanni Ranieri , Next Geosolutions’ chief executive officer, said: “In order to meet the growing needs of our global clients, it has become essential to expand our international operations. The Middle East is a key focus for our services and by investing in the new bases, we open up significant opportunities within different areas of intervention. These include: surveys; ROV and diving; inspection repair and maintenance and non-destructive testing; geophysical, geotechnical and marine services.”

The new premises will enable the company to conduct air diving inspection, repair and maintenance projects throughout the Arabian Gulf.

“Having the right assets and a qualified team in the region is the key to meeting the increasing clients’ demands for our company’s expertise and to further expanding our targets. In addition to the initial five employees, we are hoping to recruit further members of staff in the next 12 months, based on potential opportunities ,” added Ranieri.
