A vacancy for a Marine Energy Research and Business Development Manager (RBDM) has arisen within an alliance of Scottish universities engaged in energy related research and development known as Energy Technology Partnership (ETP).
The successful candidate will be based at the University of Edinburgh (UoE), with frequent travels to Wave Energy Scotland (WES) in Inverness, as well as relevant universities, research institutes, developer and supply chain organizations, according to UoE.
The role of marine energy RBDM involves identifying Scottish companies which have a technical or business challenge which can be addressed by one of the ETP universities or WES programs, and working with the company and university academics/researchers to develop ways of providing support.
The appointment is for 24 months, with potential to be extended dependent on funding, and the closing date for applications has been set for December 22, 2016.
The key strategic objectives of ETP are to increase research excellence through pooling of resources across the ETP, knowledge exchange with industry and delivering economic impact to the Scottish economy.
WES aims to support and accelerate the development of wave energy technology in Scotland and was established as part of the Highlands and Islands Enterprise at the request of the Scottish government in December 2014.
