The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District will host a media event commemorating the completion of the Cleveland Harbor East Breakwater Repair project, Monday, December 5 at 3:00pm at the Forest City Yacht Club.

Repair work to the approximately 4,400 linear feet of breakwater began in the beginning of June 2015.

The work was completed by Great Lakes Dock & Materials LLC and includes the placement of armor stone as well as 18,259 precast 6.5-ton dolosse.

USACE Buffalo District took on the project to repair the approximately $31 million worth of damages caused by Superstorm Sandy, October 2012.

Bulk commodities that pass through Cleveland Harbor generate about $1.7 billion annually in direct revenue while supporting approximately 15,000 direct, indirect, and induced jobs that produce over $1 billion per year in personal income.
