The video above shows inter-array cables installation project by Siem Offshore Contractors on the Nordsee One offshore wind farm in the German Bight of the North Sea.

SOC installed approximately 70 kilometres of inter-array grid cables on the Nordsee One OWF between June and August 2016.

All 59 cables were installed using the cable lay vessel (CLV) Siem Aimery and the installation support vessel (ISV) Siem Moxie. The vessels were supported by MPV Siddis Mariner, which provided subsea support for the installation of cable protection systems and concrete mattresses.

SOC was awarded the engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPIC) contract for the inter-array cable system of the Nordsee One OWF in 2014.

Nordsee One will comprise 54 wind turbines with an overall installed capacity of 332 megawatts, located 40 kilometres north of the island of Juist in water depths of up to 34 metres. The wind farm is owned by Northland Power (85%) and RWE International SE (15%).
