Dutch shipbuilder Damen Shipyards Group and Rosmorport have entered into a partnership agreement for the development of shipbuilding facilities in Russia.

The two companies signed an Agreement of Intent during the X International Forum “Transport Week 2016”, said Rosmorport in a release.

In the release, Rosmorport added that it intends to attract Damen for the development of shipbuilding facilities of LLC “Onezhsky Ship Building and Ship Repairing Plant”.

According to Rosmorport , implementation of the agreement will introduce advanced technological solutions of Damen in the field of shipbuilding, apply the organizational and management practices of the company, as well as improve the skills and production culture of employees of the Onezhsky shipyard.

The Transport of Russia Forum, held November 30 – December 2 2016 at the Gostiny Dvor Complex, annually attracts more than 2,500 industry professionals.

This year’s forum included conferences devoted to the development and functionality of road, air, rail, sea, and river transport, demonstrating the latest developments and innovations within the transport sector.
