Vattenfall and the Danish minister for Energy, Utilities and Climate, Lars Chr. Lilleholt, have signed the concession agreements for the offshore wind farm Kriegers Flak and the near shore wind farms Vesterhav Nord and Vesterhav Syd.
The signatures became possible after the Danish Parliament on 19 December unanimously adopted the legislation that determines the subsidies for Kriegers Flak, Vesterhav Nord and Vesterhav Syd, Vattenfall said.
“Today, we put a nice closure to a busy but very good year for Vattenfall. We are delighted to secure Danes even more sustainable power in the future,” said Ole Bigum Nielsen, Vattenfall’s Danish Country Manager. He continues:
“We are proud to have won the last three Danish offshore tenders, and these projects really give us the opportunity to develop synergies and economies of scale in project development, but also in cooperation with suppliers and partners. Vattenfall is investing around 3.36 billion euros with a unique opportunity to build new knowledge and devising new and smarter ways of working when we have such a large renewable production portfolio.”
Vattenfall has won the last three tenders in Denmark and has now positioned itself as the leading wind producer in Denmark.
The 600MW Kriegers Flak will be Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm. Vattenfall won the Kriegers Flak tender with an all time low bid 37.2 Danish øre/kWh. Vattenfall’s total investment in Kriegers Flak is expected to be EUR 1.1-1.3 billion.
Vesterhav Nord and Vesterhav Syd will have a total capacity of 350MW. Vattenfall won the tender with a bid price of 47.5 Danish øre/kWh. Vattenfall’s investment in North Sea North and North South is expected to be around EUR 740 million.
