John Fredriksen-controlled Flex LNG said it has entered into two time charter agreements for LNG carriers scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2017.
The company said in its statement that the charter periods are for six months with an option to be extended for further six months, for two TFDE carriers with over 170,000-cbm capacity.
Flex LNG currently has two 174,000-cbm liquefied natural gas carriers under construction at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in South Korea, scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2018.
The company is also marketing the two MEGI 174,000-cbm LNG carriers that are under construction at DSME for delivery in 2018, controlled by the affiliated Seatankers Management.
Earlier this month, Flex LNG signed a heads of agreement with US LNG export player NextDecade to develop an FSRU and dockside solutions for NextDecade’s customers.
The deal also stipulates the terms for the long-term charter of Flex LNG FSRUs, connecting customers with a need for regasification import solutions to NextDecade’s Rio Grande LNG export project.
