Peru’s only liquefaction and export facility at Pampa Melchorita recently dispatched a cargo of LNG to Japan.

According to the shipping data from state-owned Perupetro, the facility dispatched a cargo on December 30 aboard the 145,000 cbm Methane Rita Andrea.

It is the last cargo sent from the facility in 2016 and is heading to Tokyo, Japan, the AIS data provided by the vessel tracking website, MarineTraffic shows.

It is the third cargo Methane Rita Andrea loaded at the facility and the second cargo to be shipped from Peru to Japan in December.

With the latest shipment, Peru’s 4.4 mtpa liquefaction plant dispatched 374 cargoes in total, since it began operations in June 2010.
